WHAT IS MARBLE
When limestone is subjected to an extremely high temperature and a lot of pressure, it produces a hard rock called marble. We use this stone for many different purposes and we have used it for some time. The ancient Greeks used marble to carve their beautiful sculptures; most official buildings like the White House are built from some kind of marble construction, and many of us have marble counter tops in our kitchens and bathrooms.
Marble is usually made in huge deposits that run hundreds of feet thick. Marble is available in a vase range of colors. Pure marble is primarily white or a lighter color, but can be found in creams, browns, and blacks. Marble is consider to be a hard stone but it is still very soft and easy to carve.
